Chris Koch directed Cindy Chupack's funny screenplay. The proud fathers, Cam and Mitch are ecstatic watching Lily at the altar. Her costume is lit up, as well as those of the bridesmaids, the bride and the whole wedding party. The wedding begins and a cute Lily is seen preceding the bride to the altar. She swims again toward the filter, where the object of her getting in the pool lies hidden. Later on, the family puts on a lifesaver costume on Stella. Gloria ends up in the pool with her fancy dress and all as she gets Stella out of danger. She tries all kinds of things, to no avail. As she looks to the pool, Gloria watches Stella in the water. As Gloria gets ready to go to the wedding, she has to wait for Jay and Manny, obviously running late while dressing. There are some funny moments in his speech, which someone thinks is hilarious enough to edit it and send it to Youtube for a funny segment. As Claire is clearly losing her battle, Phil gets up to defend his wife. ![]() What's more, the proceeding is being televised on a local channel. ![]() To make matters worse, the flower girl outfit is something else with lights in the dress, or the head ornament. He tries all ways to tell the girl it is not right what she is saying. Mitch is horrified Lily will say it again. At one point, Lily, who speaks little, burst out saying the 'F' word, to Mitchell complete amazement and Cam's total amusement. At Mitchell and Cameron, they have been practicing with Lily for an upcoming wedding of a friend, who wants the girl to be a flower girl. ![]() Gloria feels she has been neglected in favor of the animal. Suddenly, they cannot leave the patio door open for fear Stella will jump in the water they fear the dog will drown if they are not careful. A horrified Jay goes after her, pulling out of the water. Jay's dog, Stella, throws herself into the pool. Claire comes across as defensive, no matter what Phil and the kids tell her to avoid and what to concentrate. The family feels she is not prepared, so they stage a Q&A session to test her on the issues. Even if it's not as sexy as feline AIDS.Ĭlaire is trying to put her thoughts together about her impending debate with Duane Bailey for a spot in City Council. Clearly the dog really was swimming, but this storyline works overall. Finally, the third storyline features Jay's new dog repeatedly jumping into the pool without knowing how to swim. Who are the bride and groom? The episode doesn't say. To a degree it's shock value, but a decent storyline comes out of it as Lily serves as the flower girl in the world's tackiest wedding. I thought it was going to be just once, but she actually says it several times (the actress is really saying "fudge"). As well, this episode benefits from a new talking Lily, as the 3-year-old begins dropping the F-bomb. Claire may not win the race, but it's not for nothing, because she's won Alex's approval. That was actually one of the weaker episodes of season 2, but this public shaming was probably the funniest thing to come out of it. Besides, how often do housewives get elected? We begin to see the humour in defeat here as Claire's campaign unravels the voters find her "angry and unlikeable" in a poll, and then she is embarrassed in the debate when Phil's near-arrest in Bixby's Back is brought up. There was never much hope for Claire winning this race it would change the show and a loss would be funnier. Claire is in a debate up against her opponent played by David Cross of Arrested Development fame. After ignoring Claire running for city council for quite some time, Little Bo Bleep finally gets back to the story.
